June 2026 Updates

Happy June and Congratulations to the graduates of the class of 2026.  I watched my first child get her diploma on the 2nd and boy did I have all the feelings.  Where did the time go?  What's next?  Such a flow of emotions that were almost too much to handle.  It will be a big transition from this to her next chapter but she's got confidence and a personality that can tackle anything, and I'm very proud of her.  Make sure to tell your kids the same.  

Still a good amount of activity out there with new businesses opening or coming soon.  Hope we can keep the momentum up.  Some of these social media posts don't help but I'm not going to get into that. Be a cheerleader for your town.  Be educated on what's going on.  Do research.

Rice and Spice now open at the Westlake Square Shopping Center.  3380 Middletown Road #102, Waldorf. Rice & Spice offers a flavorful fusion of Asian cuisine, featuring an extensive menu of Thai, Laotian, Chinese, and sushi specialties. Hangry Joe’s is now open at Armory Square in Prince Frederick May 28th. 439 N Solomons Island Road.  

Looks like First Watch is taking the current Panera space at South Plaza Shopping Center in St. Mary's county.  Stay tuned for updates.  Still wondering if Panera will move somewhere else.

One 50 Fitness Grand Opening July 18th. 37670 Mohawk Drive in Charlotte Hall.

Bollywood Masala will open June 11th at their new location in Waldorf. 3804 Crain Highway next to Bahama Bucks at the South Park retail center.

Red Bowl Hibachi & Chicken and Red Chili Burgers & Wings coming soon to Pinefield South Shopping Center in the former Lefty’s location.

Our friends at the shops at Waldorf center have announced a new lease with Mini So. Coming this fall.  

MINISO is a popular global lifestyle and variety retail chain known for its affordable, high-quality, and trendy merchandise.

La Tazza Coffee Co. Soft opening July 6th at 26945 Three Notch Rd, Mechanicsville.  Grand Opening on the 7th.

Newly renovated The Creek sports bar and restaurant opened June 19th at the former Boston's pizza location.  Still waiting for a date on when Flavor hive will open next door.

Three Notch Toys opened Saturday June 27th at 38592 Unit B Brett Way, Mechanicsville.

October 2025 Updates

 October is the month where autumn truly comes alive. The air turns crisp, leaves transform into shades of red, orange, and gold, and cozy traditions begin to take center stage. It’s the season of pumpkins on porches, warm drinks in hand, and weekends spent at harvest festivals or exploring scenic fall landscapes.

There’s also a touch of magic in October—cool evenings made for bonfires, the glow of jack-o’-lanterns, and the anticipation of Halloween at month’s end. It’s a time to slow down, savor the beauty of the season, and embrace both the comfort and mystery that fall brings.

I hope everyone is doing well and is ready for the holiday season.  I don't want the warm weather to end.  People are very grumpy out here.  Please be kind to one another,  It does not take much.

  

Looks like this year in Waldorf, after Spirit Halloween we will be getting Spirit Christmas!  They are located in Waldorf Marketplace.  I'm interested to see what they have to offer.

Maman Joon Persian Kabob is opening soon at 2215 Crain Highway next to the new World Food Supermarket in Waldorf.

Rice and Spice coming soon to the Westlake Shopping Center in Waldorf.

Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls is coming soon to Waldorf at 3176 Crain Highway next to Marcos Pizza.  The company has been in business since 2014 and has six locations in Maryland.  This will be the first in Southern Maryland. https://www.masonslobster.com/locations/waldorf-md/

Qdoba Mexican Eats now open at the Shops at Waldorf Center.  2952 Festival Way, #607 in the same area as Chilis, Xfinity, Ledo's and Sweet frog. 

Weis in Leonardtown is having their Grand Opening October 16th at 7 a.m.  40845 Merchants Lane at The Shops at Breton Bay.

The Pampered Peach Wax Bar coming soon to Waldorf Plaza Shopping Center.  This is their first location in Maryland. 

Crunch Fitness now open at 3035 Waldorf Marketplace.

The Med Beauty Spa Grand Opening October 16th at 10072 Southern Maryland Blvd, Dunkirk, MD
