Arby's is coming back to Waldorf

The former Chevy Chase Bank located at Route 301 and Smallwood Drive West in Waldorf has been purchased by a group to put in a new Arby's.  This is over by Burger King, Panda Express and the former Hard Times Cafe in the St. Charles Towne Plaza.  This was a recent purchase so there are no details yet on an opening date.  It will be nice to have them back in the area. As you may remember we had a few of them before Roy Rogers took over the locations in Waldorf and La Plata.  Existing building to be remodeled. 

Arby's is part of the Inspire Brands which include Sonic, Buffalo Wild Wings and Rusty Taco.

As of April 2020 no opening date has been announced.

Casey Jones Restaurant Closing

Casey Jones Restaurant in a La Plata, which has been a landmark in the area since 1980, will be closing August 4th.

A D.C. restaurant group called EatWell DC will be opening a new restaurant in the location called The Charles-Farm Table & Public House.  EatWell has a farm close by which is one of the reasons it chose the area. This will be EatWell's  sixth restaurant and the first in Maryland.  Some of their other restaurants include The Pig and The Bird which will have some of its dishes featured at the new location.  Look for it to open October 1st of this year.  The address is 417 Charles Street, La Plata, MD.

The Habit Burger Grill Now Open in Waldorf

The Habit Burger Grill is now open at the Shoppes at Waldorf Center 2980 Festival Way.
Habit Burger started back in 1969 in Santa Barbara, CA and they have locations nationwide.  They specialize in char grilling beef, chicken, tri-tip steak and tuna burgers and sandwiches.  They also have a nice selection of salads and sides.  This is their first location in Southern Maryland.
