July is a month filled with excitement and warmth, perfect for making memories with friends and family. It's a month that brings the heat of summer along with lots of fun activities and especially the 4th of July to watch fireworks and celebrate our country. I hope everyone has a good 4th and keeps out of the burn unit.

Once again I appreciate all the nice comments you have written. I'll just keep laughing at the bad comments and chalk them up as just plain ignorance. It's best that way. I took a few days off and went to Ocean City with the family. It's still a great place to visit. Water was nice and really clear on some days. Beach was not too busy. Boardwalk was the same. Quite the selection of "I love hot moms" shirts and other interesting quotes. Tempting but I refrained from buying one for myself.
A 60,000 square foot Weis Market is still listed as proposed for Charlotte Hall Station but I'm pretty sure its a done deal by now. Along with it will be some outparcels and gas station proposed. This is going on the former McKay's project site.

Hey C, did the planned Auto Zone in Bryans Road fall through?
This is a link detailing the Weis and Charlotte Hall Commons shopping center
https://hrretail.com/properties/charlotte-hall-station/
They said they would look at other offers for the site autozone is supposed to go on so I dont think they completed the deal or are trying to hold off for something better.
I don't see any square footage that would indicate a large grocery store, let alone one ofWeiss's new high-end stores
I just posted the pics. Its 60,000 sf.
Got it Chis,thanks!!
So is the weiss in addition to the Aldi coming to Charlotte hall
Yes thats correct. They will be across the highway from each other.
Hi Chris, have you heard anything about Zagsbys is that deal still on the table?
I have noticed construction at the old bank in the Wildewood Shopping center. Is there any update of what this will be?
Yes, it’s a Mexican restaurant
As far as i know they are still going thru permits at zaxbys.
Tia's cantina is taking over the bank at wildewood center. I mentioned it a long time ago. I was wondering if they backed out. Glad to hear there is movement.
What's Going To Happen With The Shoppers Food In Charlotte Hall, MD Because On Google Maps It Says Temporarily Closed
Per Brandon Russel that space is planned for the Regional Ag Center which will have meat processing, etc.
I notice there’s a lot being cleared behind Bryan’s road shopping center. Any idea what this may be?
Yes we are working with the county to do that agricultural center at shoppers. Not a done deal yet.
Bryans road I only know they are doing residential back there.
Dey ene plans for sum adult intertainmint atabletments round hurr?
Ha. A feel this was made in jest. However, there was Roses in St. Mary’s & ChooChoos in Waldorf. Both which closed & I wonder if they were only grandfathered in since nothing of the sort has popped up to replace.
Ha! Yes! roses or Rosie’s? Something of the sort. Right outside St. Mary’s square in Great Mills
Rosie's was great, all the local druggie strippers... woo wee!
Any word on the major grocery store that will be in the new Pinegrove Shopping Center? Any word on what other businesses will be in Pinegrove Shopping Center?
Chris, any work on if there is still plans for WaWa to build a new store on South bound Rt 301 next to the Honda dealership where the self car wash and small abandon strip mall in located. I think it is right across from the entrance to Home Depot?
I think Pinegrove retail is on hold for now. They are too busy with the residential. We are still working on selling lots to build on.
Yes that Wawa is still in the works as far as I know.
Hello Chris,
You continue to be a stud with all the information related to the growth in the county and area. For the Pinegrove Retail, who can we communicate to for lobbying to put in a Publix and a Mellow Mushroom Pizza? While I know there is some magical franchise formula, seems like Chuck County might be finally starting to break the mold with decent stores. Maybe they were inspired by Calvert and St. Mary's, however it came about hope the good stores keep coming. Thanks!
Hi Chris, looks like Tpot at Waldorf will have a soft opening on August 1st, it’s posted on their facebook page.
Theres only 30 grocery stores in a reasonable distance, let's add another.

Sports and Wellness Complex coming to Waldorf!
Pinegrove may be on hold for a while. We put out information across the earth for retailers and markets to see. They come to us if they feel the area is right for them. We push and give them as much good information as possible. They make the final decision. One reason they don't come is if they don't have another location close then it makes it hard for them to ship product to the store. Sometimes they don't have someone that wants to do a franchise in the area. We do our best.
Grow up
Any word about Marco’s Pizza, Waldorf opening date?
Agree the previous comment was somewhat childish. But looking at it from a perspective of inquisitive I do wonder why there is not one locally. I’m sure there’s demand. Chris any insight on zoning laws or if you just think there’d be pushback with getting it passed due to conservative groups. Actually interested in why since there’s been 2 locally in the past.
Chris, do you know what's going on with the mcdonalds on 301 next to the outback? The building is demolished
I’m sure it will be very useful for the residents. I would like to know what happened with the millions of dollars that was paid to purchase property off of Poplar Hill Rd in Waldorf, for the same type of Sports n Rec facility….rather what will happen with the property? It was news just a few years ago.
Marcos has not done much to the space. Probably 3-4 months off.
McDonalds is doing a new restaurant to match all the other boring ones. I think that was the oldest one we had in the area so it needed to start fresh.
I haven't heard what the timeline is for that other sports complex. Ill see if i can get an answer.
Chuck E. Cheese in Waldorf renovated to add a trampoline park
I missed the comment about the Adult club. Currently there is no description in the permissible use table for adult entertainment. I think the county is basically against having them. Someone tried to sneak one in in bryans road and got shut down immediately.
I sho does like me some Chunky Cheese.
