March. The signs of the changing season become more apparent. The weather starts to get warmer, and the days become longer. Spring flowers begin to bloom, bringing color back to the world. March is a time of transition from the chilly winter months to the more pleasant days ahead. I hope everyone has pleasant days ahead filled with happiness. I'm really in need of some more of that sunshine.
As I always say if you want a restaurant or other store to come to the area tell them! Go to their websites, Facebook pages, Instagram and let them know you want them here. They need to hear from the consumers. Not every place can open because some have to have a franchiser in the area. It's not always a corporate store.

Anxiously waiting for the new Fresh Green. I wonder when it will open?
https://www.freshgreensalads.com/location/coming-soon-2024/
They didn't even spell the address correctly!
As Charlotte Hall progresses forward, whats the deal with Royal Farms, Starbucks? What about the old steakhouse place next to 7-11? Last heard, Southern Maryland Produce was going there.
Another auto parts place in less than a two mile stretch.
Royal farms is still going back and forth with the county. Traffic flow concerns, etc.
Starbucks is going to build next to chick fil a now so that's still working. I heard the same about the steakhouse. Someone was going to make it a farmers market.
Thank you for the update. That corner where Royal Farms wants to go will a tough decision to get any traffic pattern blessed.
Chris what is the correct address for the new Fresh Green restaurant coming to Brandywine. Do you know the completion date?
Royal Farms was a stupid idea in the first place.
Oh yeah, but everything existing around there makes good sense and has a good flow to it.
Royal farms should have beat Sheetz to getting the VA area lot. We could use something other than Wawa or Sheetz.
Any info on The RAD House bar in La Plata?
Any update on the Pizza Hut in Brandywine?
What is going where the Bed Bath and Beyond was in Waldorf?
No updates yet on pizza hut or rad house. Nothing has been posted.
There is a beauty island supply going in the bed bath and beyond. I wish it was something better.
Is Pop & Grow moving to the former Christmas Tree Shops location?
Its confirmed. Southern Maryland Produce will be at the old St Marys Landing starting April 3. They will be set up outside until building is renovated.
Yeah, we need ANOTHER beauty supply store!
Car washes, beauty supply stores and chicken places, Waldorf doing Waldorf things.
Charles County must have the most beautiful women in all of the county. With all these beauty supply places for them, or they need these places to cover up what they actually look like.
Rumors are flying around that shoppers is closing in California and Leonardtown location have you heard anything about this
https://kleinenterprises.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/St-Marys-Marketplace-Flyer.pdf The top left labeled A looks likes a to be drive thru food spot. Any info on that? ….Also, any info on the prior Esperanza lanes bowling alley in California, Md st. Mary’s?
Yes the pop up is moving to the old christmas tree shops.
I have not heard anything about shoppers closing.
That is just a pad site at st marys marketplace for a potential restaurant or something else.
Bowling alley still shows available for lease.
Something def happening in LTown shoppers with construction type thing going on. I wonder too.
All Shoppers (charlotte Hall, Hollywood, Leonardtown) close at end of April. Waldorf will stay open a while longer.
Yup, at end of April. Waldorf stays open for a bit longer.
Waaah?? What about Charlotte Hall location?
Thank you! Makes sense to the rumors. But crazy. They weren’t open that long.
Not surprising considering the Waldorf location’s track record in recent years
Where is this being posted?
It was posted on the Nextdoor forum. Some one posted that a friend who worked there told him that they were going to close all but Waldorf at the end of April.
The slow moving Royal Farms in Charlotte Hall had some activity on Monday. Surveyor's were putting down stakes along Oaks Rd. that looked like they might be for widening Oaks Rd from Three Notch to Charlotte Hall Rd.
My mother works at shoppers, it’s a fact. Employees were notified late last week/this week. They are all closing. Waldorf will be open a little longer.
Charlotte Hall definitely needs a viable grocery option. Not a surprise Shoppers didn’t survive - it’s been a cost town since they opened with their ridiculous price points. Def need an option there besides Food Lion which is always slammed.
Well since Shoppers has failed I cant see any grocery store wanting to come and fill the spot. The big guys like Safeway and Giant wouldnt even think about taking over that space. Never been to Bradfords that space might be too big for them. Come on Mr Rosemoor clear that farmers market quick. We need Aldi built today.
Aldi should occupy the now defunct Charlotte Hall Shoppers or build where McKays tried to open next to Tidewater Vet; a southbound grocery store would be nice. It seams like all counties see land and say lets bulldoze it! Who cares about all the empty storefronts and lack of infrastructure, schools, police, fire and EMS to support it all.
The old McKays/Shoppers/whatever else/ may try to go there good luck, divide it up into maybe three different stores. Its too big for a Aldi, and they dont want the old site that McKays was going to build the new store on that site would take too long with permits. They are already planned over by the market. Lets see how fast that area will be cleared and building started, Mr. Rosemore start the dozers. We need another grocery store.
With the amount of chain restaurants and stores that fill the Southern MD area (Waldorf specifically) has this been seen as a concern at all to the local population and government? I see less and less local spots and it concerns me as it deadens the quality of options in my opinion.
Thanks in advance. Looking forward to hearing anyone’s thoughts.
I Don't Want Shoppers To Close In Waldorf Anymore, Then All Those People Would Have To Drive All The To Clinton To Shop There
