November is a month when the weather starts to cool down even more, making it a perfect time to indulge in outdoor activities like hiking, camping, or leaf-peeping. Additionally, It's a month of festivities including Thanksgiving, Veteran's Day, and Black Friday sales. Its a month to gather with family and friends to enjoy fantastic dinners, watch football games, or go shopping. Moreover, November is a month when many cities start to illuminate with holiday lights, making it ideal for taking a night stroll, admiring the decorations and sipping hot cocoa. It offers plenty of opportunities for entertainment, relaxation, and bonding with loved ones. Anytime spent with family is always appealing to me.
When you are looking for a new place to come to the area remember that they need to hear from you. Tell them you want them here. Also make sure they have locations in the area. A business in Florida isn't coming up here to open one location in southern Maryland. A lot of places are franchises so unless there is a person that wants to invest in opening a location here it may not come.
Coco Bay Kitchen and Tea House is planning to open after Thanksgiving at the Waldorf Shoppers World 3280 Crain Highway.
White Oak Veterinary Urgent Care opening November 9th in La Plata across from Aldi. 145 Rosewick Corner Place Suite 103.
Bon AppéSweet & Better Black Coffee
Opening November 11th in Leonardtown at the Shoppes at McIntosh. 25805 Point Lookout Rd.

Chris, what shops are going in the small strip mall on 301 south of the Hampton Inn and Cracker Barrel?
Chris regarding the upscale version Weis grocery store coming to Billingsley Road in Charles County Parkway, when will you know when they will break ground for construction? Any idea of a completion date?
Looks like Harris Teeter has been bought by a company that owns several grocery chains and they are going to rename 10 of the HT stores in the DMV to Piggly Wiggly's. They are not telling which ones to be renamed yet. Story is in the 'County Times"
More precisely, Kroger’s, parent company of HT, and Albertsons, parent company of Safeway, are merging and in order to get the deal approved they have to divest themselves of some HT stores where the merger would reduce competition. The stores were sold to C&S, parent company of Piggly Wiggly. My understanding is that the Harris Teeter in California will not be affected. Nothing definitive on Dunkirk HT, however since it’s basically catty corner to a Safeway, I would think one has to go.
Any idea what is going to be in the construction happening next to the vfw or the brusters in California?
The construction next to the VFW in California is a hotel. …the construction next to Brusters is supposed to be flex space. Last I heard was a spot supposed to be a coffee shop. More details on that please Chris/Shasho!
So far all i know about the strip by Hampton inn is that they put in a laundry mat.
They will probably start construction early next year on the Billingsley retail center.
Not sure whats official near brusters. When they dont use an agent nothing is posted.
I posted about the magnolia gardens on facebook.
If you go to the Facebook page St. Marys County Maryland there is a post on Jan 15th of 2023 that had a coffee shop for 1,200 sf a carry out for 1,225 sf and fast food for 1,400 sf. Been awhile since that post so might have changed but it has a good drawing blueprint of plans for reference.
Coming to Leonardtown….
Grand opening November 11th 9:15am veteran owned Bon AppéSweet & Better Black Coffee on Route 5 next to the Dominos Pizza.
Just what we needed!!
Chris, any ideas on what will happen to the Bank of America branch after the current location is demolished as part of the Pax River Village overhaul? With the closure of the Leonardtown branch, all we have left if the want in Lexington Park closes is the one up by Mechanicsville or across the bridge in Prince Frederick.
Where can I get me some shartcuterie?
if you’re talking about preparing charcuterie at home, Aldi stores have an endcap that is always devoted to charcuterie.
