November settles gently over Southern Maryland, wrapping the region in a calm, golden stillness. The fields fade to soft browns, and the last of the tobacco barns stand silhouetted against low, silver skies. Along the Patuxent and Potomac rivers, morning fog rolls in thick and slow, lifting to reveal quiet coves and glassy water reflecting the muted colors of late autumn.
The days carry a hint of wood smoke and salt air — a reminder that the Chesapeake is never far away. Local roads wind past roadside stands selling the last of the harvest, and small towns like La Plata, Leonardtown, and Indian Head glow with early holiday lights and community spirit. Oysters come into season, crab pots are stacked high for winter, and neighbors gather for Thanksgiving dinners and fall festivals that celebrate the land and water that define this place.
In Southern Maryland, November is a month of gratitude and reflection — a bridge between the warmth of harvest and the quiet promise of winter.
I hope this holiday you get to spend time with friends and family. Its important for your mental health. Get out and make memories with the ones you love whenever you have a chance.

Hello Chris,
Thank you for the updates. I really appreciate and enjoy reading the updates and kind words you post every month. I recently came across an article that states the Weiss they are building in Fairway Village on Billingsley will be a standard market like the one in Charlotte Hall, I remember when you first posted it was supposed to be somewhat as a super store with stores within the store or like the concept store in Pennsylvania, something the area or surrounding area haven't seen before, has the plans changed? Also do you know if there are any tentative dates when any of those restaurants will be open over there? it looks like they have at least 4-5 of them built. and lastly, do you know when salad works and Another broken egg opening date is in the Brandywine shopping center? Thank you in advance.
Most of the places will open early 2026 Weis was pushing for January. McDonald's is open already. They said the Weis was supposed to be one of their best stores. We will see what they bring.
