This is awesome! I'm going to go visit! Happy to have a new Asian option! There is also an new Indian spot in that shopping center as well.

We visited a couple of weeks ago and it is very good. We usually drive in to DC to get Korean food, so we are excited to find Spoon's BBQ in La Plata. They serve Korean staple dishes galbi, bulgogi, plus a basic miso ramen, and really good mix of other Korean dishes, including Japchae & Jeon, plus unlimited pickled kimchi, bean sprouts, etc. Since not everyone loves Korean, they also offer American BBQ, ribs, pulled pork, and smoked chicken, along with classic American sides like collards and mac & cheese.

On our visit, for starters, we ordered the Kimchi Jigae (spicy kimchi soup) and Mandu (pot stickers). Both were excellent. For our mains, I had the Bulgogi (marinated sliced rib eye) and my husband had the Jeyuk Bokkum (sliced pork marinated in red pepper paste). We enjoyed everything immensely, and plan to return as often as possible for Korean food alone.

I also tried the mac & cheese, which I liked, and the collard greens, which I didn't like as much as it seemed to have the vinegar cooked in. I just prefer it without vinegar at all. The greens were tender and well cooked, with the only problem as the vinegar taste for me.

Look them up on the Internet and check out the varied menu. There are lots of things to try. Please do visit, as I am so tired of A) driving anywhere but close by for good food, and B) all the chain restaurants. This place is distinctive and delicious.
