Finally a tenant has been secured for the old Bennigans location. The All American Steakhouse & Sports Theatre has begun making alterations to the building. We estimate an early summer 2014 opening date. They currently have five locations in Maryland and Virginia and another on the way in Odenton in the winter of 2014.

No parking,or not enough,& the entrance is problematical so close to the busy intersection
Another steak joint? Well at least it's not a Dollar Store
I am interested in knowing what is coming in the area by jimmy's paddock, that Dashin and the moose lodge area
Currently we have 2 pad sites available for sale on the corner of 227 and 301. No tenants yet.
As of now that is the only development going on.
Hi Chris,
Do you know how Mimi's Cafe is doing? We drove past Sunday afternoon and only 4 cars were in the lot. That does not bode well. I'm thinking it will be closing soon.
When I went two months ago the service was horrible! I sat at the bar and the bartender barely paid me any attention. She was on her cell phone trying to pay a bill for daycare! The place seemed dirty and needed to be fixed up because it was falling apart. Food was not good and I will never be back. If they close I wont mind because the service and food arent worth my money. Maybe a better restaurant can take over. Trust me when Silver Diner opens Mimis Cafe will close. To be honest that entire mall although newer seems to be struggling. I find myself going to The Shops at Waldorf more.
I see this area growing which good news for Southern Marylanders. When is the county going to seriously look into fixing 301 and 228? These roads are so horrible. 301 and 228 are so congested.
Didn't the company that owned the Mimi's brand sell it off? Maybe that has something to do with the service issues. I believe it used to be owned by the parent company of Bob Evan's before. The restaurant scene in Waldorf is so tough that things like Harris describes really adds up and leads to restaurants that do well elsewhere from doing as well here. Traffic is always going to be a huge issue here because of all the commuting. One thing that they could do is bypass the light at Accokeek road right past Brandywine and that would certainly make a huge difference. It shocks me that some people in the county think they can make a project like mass transit work here. While it would be great to have, the price tag is too high especially without any high paying jobs in the county to support such a project. Rental prices around the county used to be cheaper and it made it worthwhile to live here and work elsewhere. Now not so much.
I have heard in the past the business was slow, but every time I have been including last week there was an average amount of people in there. Mimi's was bought by Le Duff in March of 2013 from Bob Evans.
301 and 228 are state roads so they make all the decisions on fixing them. They are currently working on some turning lanes on Leonardtown road to help congestion there.
Hopefully thing will improve at Mimi's. For the most part I am pleased with a majority of the restaurants in Waldorf (especially Silver Skewer - amazing customer service!). I would like something upscale but that will happen in time. Glad to see Chicken Rico having great success also and looking forward to trying Waku Chicken when it opens.
This is fine that there are new restaurants coming to Waldorf but when is a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's coming??
As of now they will not. We speak to them a few times a year and we still don't meet all their requirements.
Until there are higher paying jobs that can keep people in County we won't have the opportunity to see these type of stores. Once that is in place everything else could fall into place like those stores and upscale restaurants.
What is being built across from the new Dash In on St. Charles Parkway? It looks like a strip mall.
Any news of when Fuddruckers in Brandywine Crossing is planning on opening. Also, Mimi's went downhill when they revamped their menu last fall and tried going more upscale. They are in the process of bringing back alot of the comfort foods that were originally on the menu, like the meatloaf. Service and customer support has increased since they revamped the menu.
There is a assisted living facility being built across from dash in.
Currently the landlord is building the retail building shells at Brandywine and the tenants should take over soon to begin their build out. I would estimate around 3 months to get build out done pending permits. So maybe a late summer opening. Could be sooner.
So what are the 3 buildings that they are currently constructing going to be ?
Which location, Brandywine?
Maybe if you stopped selling all this places that have trees maybe you should focus on the open tenet stores in all these shopping centers and building around here such as white plains
I have listed the tenants on a past blog entry:

If someone wants to sell their property and it has trees on it then I'm going to sell it for them. It's my job. I can't put assisted living in a shopping center. We have turned many former spaces into new stores and shopping centers. For instance Brandywine shopping center was a failed industrial park with houses in front of it. Some were abandoned. A developer turned it into a nice shopping center. We are currently working on turning the American hardware into new stores. I cannot force tenants into places they don't want to be. I market with every tool I have. Almost all the retail in White Plains is full with the exception of one center.
That's good news about the former hardware store. Commercial property owners will need to update their centers to attract new retailers;
We went there tonight! I posted a review on Yelp. :)
