Books A Million Now Open
Books A Million has opened at Waldorf Shoppers World. Store also includes Joe muggs coffee.

Ok, so it's not quite Borders...but almost. It somehow lacks the ambience. The coffee shop area needs more seats, and comfy ones at that. It's just a few little tables with hard little chairs scattered here and there. I was not impressed. But at least we have a bookstore in Waldorf still.
Yes it's definitely not the same but thats what we get from these stores that that take advantage of a desparate situation. They get in for cheaper rent, use existing furniture and they set up quickly for the christmas season. Hopefully if sales stay strong they will fix it up more.
It's really too bad that we didn't end up getting a Barnes and Noble. They are so much better than Books A Million! At least we got a large Books A Million because I've been to others in the area (including Arundel Mills) which were all disappointing. Stuff was everywhere (bins and boxes of product), there was torn carpet all over the place and in some cases you couldn't even move around that well in the stores. Also the one in Arundel Mills had carpet on either side of a big walkway down the middle that I think was concrete or some other material and the paint was chipping.
