Cafe Rio Mexican Grill

It has been announced that Cafe Rio will be building a new location at the Shops at Waldorf Center.  This Shopping center formerly known as Festival Shopping Center is currently expanding its retail on Rt. 228 (Berry Rd.)  CVS has already moved to the new area and Cafe Rio will join them on this site.  We are guessing at a late winter early spring opening.  More details as we get them.  Cafe Rio makes everything fresh, has no freezers or microwaves in their restaurants, and uses no artificial ingredients.  To learn more about them, visit their website:  www.caferio.com

So have you gotten any information about the movie theatre in Brandywine Crossing?

That is a great location for Cafe Rio. Any update on the old Friendly's renovation?

Im waiting on an answer from the county on it. At first I thought cafe rio was going there because they like to convert lots of friendlys but that was not the case here.

Thanks. Do you know if it was Charles County or Prince George's County that passed a law requiring all construction sites to place a billboard announcing the name of the business within a certain amount of days?

I havent heard of that. I know we have never had to do it in charles. If they were going to change zoning or something similar then they would have to announce that with a sign.

So I was curious about something and maybe you could shed some light on it. Obviously the planned facelift for the festival shopping center (I mean The Shops at Waldorf) is off but why did they do some partial work on it (like changing a small amount of the front of the roomstore). Does the property management not realize that it looks pretty bad and not consistent at all. I mean it would have been better had they not done anything at all. Also the signage is inconsistent (store's panels on both sides of each sign are in different or multiple places on each sign) and while that's a small thing it really gives off the appearance that the property management company doesn't care or pay attention.

There will be more changes coming to that center. I have spoke to their reps in the past and they have plans to convert some of the space over by babies r us and christmas tree shops into another large box retailer. You will also see a strip of more retail behind the cvs and the cafe rio. As the economy improves work will continue. I dont like things to be inconsistant either. When I represent a property I always voice my opinion.

Are they renovating the building behind Ross for the new Cafe Rio?

If so that is a perfect location. Saw their facebook page and they have a great menu selection and may give Chipotle some good competition.

From what was described to me it would be on the opposite side of the entrance closer to where the monument sign is.
