New Charles County Library

Construction has begun on the new 30,000 square foot Waldorf west public library. The library will be located next to the Hilton Garden Inn at the O'Donnell Restaurant park. Construction will take approxamately two years to complete. Features will include a meeting room to hold around 300 people and a small stage. The library will be certified as a green building. Shasho Consulting were the brokers for the sale of the land.

Cell Phone Law Effective October 1, 2010

Maryland law will now prohibit all Maryland drivers from using a cell phone without a hands free device while operating a motor vehicle in motion on a street of highway. The law is a secondary offense, meaning that the driver must first be detained for another offense such as speeding. For more information please visit www.choosesafetyforlife.com
