October 2022 Updates

Happy Fall! Its been a wet one so far.  Hope everyone is staying warm and dry.  Looking forward to hay rides farm tours with the family this month.  Don't you hate when Halloween falls on a Monday?  Who wants that?  Hope to see some of these businesses get up and running soon but the permit process has been extremely slow. I'd also like to know where all the restaurant employees have gone.  These places have had a hard time filling spots.  What gives?

El Rinconcito Salvadoreño has opened in the La Plata Village shopping center.  114 Drury Drive.  Locally owned and operated.
Green Turtle will open October 10th at the Brandywine Crossing Shopping Center.
Speaking of Brandywine, This is the project going next to the Costco and behind Target at Brandywine crossing.  Its called the retreat at Brandywine crossing.  There will be 170 townhome rentals.
Coco Bay Kitchen & Tea House coming soon to Waldorf Shoppers World. 3280 Crain Highway between Bed Bath and Beyond and Aldi. Vietnamese restaurant.
Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken is also coming to the Waldorf Shoppers World.  Specializing in Nashville style hot chicken.  I didn't even know that was a thing.  They will be located next to Charley's Cheesesteaks.
America's Best Wings is coming to the Manokeek Village shopping Center in Accokeek.
Copper Compass Distilling Co. is now open in White Plains at 4317 Charles Crossing Drive.
Local family business, veteran owned and operated.

  1. Hi Chris thanks for the updates, any word on the opening of Cava and Raising Canes?

  2. Raising canes originally said end of the year. We will see. I'm not sure if cava is keeping the building or not. I need to ask. If they keep it then id say end of year as well.

  8. Hi Chris...there are alot of rumors floating around about St Mary's Landing/St Mary's Steak House. What's the real deal??

  9. McKays in Charlotte Hall is marking down the remainder of their products left. Any news on a potential buyer and does Mckay own the rest of the shopping plaza?

  10. The shopping center is under contract. That's all I can say until the deal is complete.

I haven't heard anything about St. Mary's landing after it was bought last year.

  11. I know this isn't really business related, by why has the paving on 301 seemed to have stopped half done?

  12. I've heard its supposed to last until mid November but it really does not make any sense. If you need to make a claim from any damage to vehicles you can email here: claims@foday.com

  13. Why is 7-11 on 235 more important than the one on Great Mills? It started much later than GM yet closer to being complete.

    1. There have been issues with the site for the Great Mills one... I know a gas line on the property they apparently didn't know about at one time was an issue.

Don't worry, it's not a racial or some type of slight to the awesome people of Great Mills...

  14. Hey Chris, not sure if this has been asked...what's the status on Crumbl Cookie? Did they pull out?

  15. I couldn't tell you why one is faster than the other. May be different owners that work at different pace, their contractors are slow, one got permits faster or one has to fix issues with their plans...

Crumbl is still shown as a tenant. Some of these groups just take forever to get started.
