March 2022 Updates

Happy March!  Warmer temperatures, flowers starting to bloom, St. Patty's Day!  Hope everyone is doing well and things are getting back to normal for you.  We should see a lot of stuff opening in the next few months.  Lots of construction in the area.  Hope we can find some new and interesting tenants.

MOD Pizza is now open in Prince Frederick in the Fox Run Shopping Center.

HomeGoods and T.J. Maxx will have their grand openings on March 17th at the Shops at Waldorf Center.
No word yet on any tenants that will take their spaces at Waldorf Marketplace.

Big Lots will open in Prince Frederick at the Fox Run shopping center on March 10th.

Rosewick Corner is under construction in La Plata on Rosewick Road.  Currently Aldi is the main tenant and Premier Health Express Urgent Care is also listed as a tenant.  There will be a gas station and a few other pad sites for retail or office users.  They have a plan to do a nice 193 unit apartment complex on the property as well.

It appears that 7-11 will be taking over the former Bob Evans location in front of Sam's Club in Waldorf.  The building will be removed and new construction will begin.  I assume the 7-11 in the strip center down the road will probably be moved to this space but I'm not positive.

  3. I haven't heard anything about that. They don't show any gas user on the site plan. Where is that coming from? They still have to finish the western parkway expansion which is probably another year or two.

  4. Pinefield neighborhood. It would make sense for Western Parkway to finish first with all of that planned mixed use area.

  5. Pinefield neighborhood. It would make sense to wait for Western Parkway to be completed with all if that mixed use shopping area coming.

  8. Has At Home showed any interest in coming to the area? I think it would be perfect in the old ToysRUs location but it could also go where TJMAXX and HomeGoods are currently located especially if DSW were to move down one spot to where Dress Barn used to be. How do we reach out to companies to let them know we are interested in them coming to Waldorf?

  9. I really really wish Harris Teeter or Publix would take the old Shoppers location!! And Dave & Busters or Main Event should take the old Sears location at the mall. We need more attractions for the kids in this area!

  10. Hello. Is Salsita's still opening in LaPlata? Also, what is going on with Waldorf Krispy Kreme? Barely opens and never gave doughnuts. Are they closing?

  12. The land at substation road will be part of a phase of Waldorf Station. you can do a search in my blog post on that project. It will be a while before anything happens.

Im sure at home have been contacted about sites here. Waldorf marketplace has been quiet on what plans it has for the spaces. Leave messages on the stores websites or Facebook pages telling them you want them here. Its best for the to hear from consumers.

The sears is for sale so someone would have to purchase it. I don't think we have the population to support dave and busters. I haven't seen their requirements recently.

Salsitas is still coming. I've been told the permit process has gotten harder so things are taking longer.

Not sure what's up with KK. Maybe an employee shortage?

    Just posted about bob evans.

    1. Cheesecake factory would be nice but that's not going to happen. Research on cheesecake factory locations show that they are only located in mid to upscale mall locations. The mall in Waldorf is not a mid or upscale. It should be but it's not.
