  1. Hi Chris,

Why can't we get ANYTHING here in Bryans Road? Our 7-Eleven closed about five years ago at about the time EVERYTHING in Indian Head closed. We only have three fast-food restaurants and a little Italian place opened in the plaza where Pizza Hut used to be.
Why can we not get any restaurants, a Wawa, or 7-Eleven?

  2. Bryans road is in the WCD zone which has drastically dropped the chances for any new development of residential in that area. Without more people in the area businesses will not thrive. Adding that zoning killed the area.

  3. Hi Chris.....

What is being built across from the Calvary Baptist church on 228?
    Is it a school?

  4. Chris, why hasn't the old HH Gregg distribution warehouse off of Brandywine Rd been leased? I would have assumed Amazon would have snatched that one up long before doing all the renovations to the three properties they bought over by the DMV. I have notice the Timothy Creek development is getting lots of land cleared the the road to join up with the Safeway/Costco is almost completed. I also heard through the grapevine that there is an 80 acre housing development going in behind Winegardner GMC, is that true? Any other businesses going in on the corner across from Safeway on 301/Chadsford rd besides the 7-11 and Taco Bell?

  5. Usually someone else buys the property and leases warehouses to Amazon. So I guess it didn't appeal to anyone yet.
Yes lots of residential development going on in PG. Right on our border unfortunately.
I think the road going behind the shopping center will help a little with traffic.

I found this about the land behind GMC dealer. I don't know where this is in approvals but here is what was mentioned in documents I found online:
Mixed use development consisting of approximately 550-650 townhouse
    and 100-200 two-family attached (2 over 2) dwelling units, and 10,000-20,000
    square feet of commercial/retail space

  6. Someone is leasing the HH Gregg warehouse, unknown whom but as of Friday December 18, about 30 tractor trailers were in there.

As far as housing, yes Brandywine has several new neighborhoods planned in various phases.
Including Timothy Branch new phases (front section and mid section) as well as more houses next to Chaddsford development and more behind Regency Furniture and a new neighborhood on Missouri Ave.

  8. Anyone know how I can find out if and when a traffic light will be built at the intersection of Route 228 and Mill Hill Road (intersection located on Route 228 between Bunker Hill Road and Bensville Road)?? Cars crowd the middle of the intersection near the median, trying to cross and merging into the oncoming traffic. There have been many accidents at this intersection for the past several years. Traffic is heavy on Route 228 During certain times of day.

  9. HH gregg warehouse is being used for USPS right now temporarily.

No news on the Waldorf station. They have been working on approvals for residential components. Still need the western parkway to connect to it as well.

  10. Chris with the past and future development in the Brandywine area are there any plans to eliminate the traffic light at Brandywine Crossing? They create a terrible bottle neck. I don't know why they were allowed in the first place.

  12. Finally, a bomb disposal technology training campus. I was just talking to my buddies about that glaring omission.
