The Landing at Woodyard

In Clinton they have revamped the former shopping center at the corner of Woodyard Rd. and Branch Ave.  I just got a list of the tenants they have signed.  Forgive me if some of these area already existing, I don't have anything to do with this center so I'm not up to date on what's there currently.
Panera Bread, Firehouse Subs, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Chick fil A, Marco's Pizza, Quickfire Japanese Hibachi.

Hope that makes the Clinton fans happy.  The center looks much better after the remodel.  Hope all the tenants have great success.  Updates as I see them.

UPDATE August 2021

Tropical Smoothie Cafe
Marcos Pizza
Aldi is open
Chick fil a
Panera open
Marshalls
Navy Federal Credit Union
Mezeh coming soon
Crafty Crab coming soon

  1. I'm not happy about Burlington, Ross, and Aldi. We should have a better grocery store. You could add a Marshalls or TJ Max before adding Ross! This is a big let down.

  7. Chris, thank you so much for posting this information! I follow this blog constantly, although I live in Clinton. I just wish someone would do what you do for my area of PG County.

    1. I would love to know what is going to take the place of the Toys R Us that is a lot of space that's just been sitting there for 20 years or more it would be nice to continue the shopping center on down or maybe have something like an Eastern Market or something on that order it is a lot of land there you have a lot of people that will come from DC down as well as from Waldorf up thank you

  9. Very excited about Marco's Pizza. Happy that I would no longer have to drive to Virginia for great pizza.

  10. I'm sorry but you mean to tell me that the Clinton area are getting those sub par stores - Aldi's, Burlington and Ross. Aldi's smell - like all of them. second hand store to me. Burlington is garbage - besides there is one in Forestville. Leave that mess there and Ross - well that's self explanatory as all of there store looks like an upgraded consignment shop. I believe the Clinton area is going downhill. I may have to look into selling my home. Terrible! Just terrible!

    1. Not sure about the smell of Aldi’s...been there (Brandywine) a few times and it never smelled. I think it gets a bad rep because it sells non name brand items...IMO that gives Walmart and Safeway competition because those stores are terrible!!!!

  11. Thank you for taking the time and possible risk in sharing this information. I'm grateful that we are getting any additional stores to the area, and not pretentious to be picky considering stores have to incur risk in certain locations. It would be nice to have another decent restaurant, but glad to have any additional options.

  12. We really need grocery store options and not so many fast food options. Did anyone consider the seniors citizens living right behind the shopping center that are fixed incomes and others residing near by when selecting lease space. I agree, a TJMaxx or Marshall would be better.

  13. I like Ross, especially if they maintain the store. No Aldi...we need Trader Joe's, something HEALTHY, Chick Filet, Cracker Barrell, a good family restaurant...no more Chinese/Asian food, we have enough in this area. We need ToysRUs back.

    1. Trader Joe's? Owned by a German company called Albrecht Discounts, ALDI is a discount grocery chain that started in Germany in 1948. ... Trader Joe's, is actually owned by Albrecht Discounts. Same brands, different labels.

    2. I'm glad to know someone besides me realizes Aldi and Trader Joe's are of the same chain store.

    3. Aldi and TJ's aren't the same.

Though Aldi is a grocery store. Not exactly sure why it isn't "healthy".

  14. I'm thrilled the area is getting a boost in retail and revitalizing the shopping center. I'm a little disappointed, however, that the grocery store, which we need so desperately, is an Aldi. We should have a Giant, Harris Teeter, or something similar. 90% of their products are their own brand rather than name-brands; you have to pay to use a cart; you have to pay for a shopping bag..... How is this store helpful?

Clinton needs a grocery store! The only grocery right now (Safeway) is dirty, has many outdated products, and unhelpful workers. Bringing in an Aldi isn't going to provide any competition -- certainly not enough to force the Safeway to step up their game.

  15. Clinton is within 5 miles of a Giant, Shopper's, and an Aldi's. I think we can do without repeats when they ar that close.

Trader Joe's may be in the same company but it is not like Aldi's. The produce lasts longer they have much more variety when it comes to fun items to cook. I couldn't find dried rosemery and thyme let alone fresh herbs, spring peas, frozen meatballs, dried cranberries, creme fraiche, and other pretty common things that people cook with all of the time.

Don't get me wrong, Aldi's has some cool stuff and the prices are wonderful BUT Trader Joe's still has something to offer. They woudl really be welcome if we could killthose MD Blue Book laws and start lettign them sell wine.

  16. It would be really nice to get a sit down restaurant such as BJ’s Brewery, or something like that. I’m very disappointed that we can’t seem to get quality stores. Aldi is subpar and not what we need or want in our area. We are tired of sertlling. Stores such as this force us to go outside the area for better choices, which then causes us to lose the stores in our area. Bring us quality and we will stay in our own areas to shop.

  17. Many thanks for this blog Chris. Does anyone happen to know what is coming to the former Giant location and Toys R Us locations?

  20. Can you tell us where you got this information from?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I get information from various places.

  22. Most of the information in this thread is highly inaccurate. There is not a furniture store coming and there never was. Also, many of the opening dates are incorrect. I suggest people reach out directly to the owner if they are seeking accurate information.

  23. The furniture store was a mistake in location. Since people ask questions about various places I thought they were speaking about toys r us in waldorf.

  24. Greetings all,
I’ve come quite late to the party, but I have to agree with the majority of posts I’ve read above on how disappointing it is that The Landings shopping center consists of the same old plain old stores—all of which are already located within a 15 min drive from Clinton north and south. I too am disappointed to find out that with all this build up and population growth in Clinton they are sticking a cheap Aldi in the middle of it. Makes the neighborhood feel downtrodden and that’s not Clinton. I would love to see a nice, clean, healthy grocery store option like Trader Joe’s in Clinton, as well as a nice restaurant. Question is: is it too late to make it happen? Do we mier residents get a say?

  25. Is Panera Bread really coming and when? Thank you

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yes Panera is coming. Dont have a date on it

    ReplyDelete
  27. Panera should start construction any day.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Any idea when Marshall’s will open and where it will be location? Also, I see that they have started construction on Chic-fil-A will open?

  29. Marshalls is going in the center portion of the former Giant space. Thats the left side of the shopping center close to old toys r us. I haven't heard of any opening date.

  30. Yes they were already added to the list above.

  31. Wish you guys would put like a mexican restaurant like The Tolteca .. their food is really great !! we don’t have any mexican restaurants near here.

  32. We don't represent this shopping center. But yes I'm sure it could use a new one. I remember Chi Chis used to be around there a while back.

  33. It's nice that to see that area is going to lighten up Clinton, but truth be told if would be nice to see a nice family sit down restaurant such as a Outback/Chili's/Longhorn in Clinton but I guess that will never happen.

    ReplyDelete
  34. What about gym in that shopping center is it closings?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I agree with some others on here we need another grocery chain

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thank You for sharing the updates. From reading the comments I see that some are not happy with the selection of businesses. You can't please everyone. I am happy to see that Clinton is getting a new shopping center, even if it does not offer all of my preferences. It is a start. We will have choices we did not have before and people beyond our community are coming in to shop. I appreciate the fact that this new shopping center, The landing, is being built here and not elsewhere. I look forward to shopping here and also look forward to additional new restaurants and stores that will arrive in the future.

  38. Panera add, I like that!

I wish they could clean up Iverson Mall area or do some renovations to it. Also Allentown Road shopping area where Midas is located looks more run down then ever. A beauty Supply store where the Blockbuster use to be?? Come on!
