Firehouse Subs Coming to Waldorf

We are happy to announce Firehouse Subs is joining 9 Round fitness and Smoothie King at the Crain Highway Retail Center in Waldorf.  As stated previously this is the former American Hardware building that is undergoing a total gut and renovation.  Look for a late spring opening date.  We still have a few spots available.

UPDATE 6-17-16 Opening has been pushed to late summer due to construction of the building taking a bit longer that expected.

    SkyZone website has announced that they are adding a location in Waldorf,MD. Do you know where it's going to be located?

    There is a shopping center next to Westlake High school which includes a 7-11 and a liquor store. It appears that there is a new tenant there but I am unsure what type of business it will be. Do you have any idea what type of business this will be? Also, will there EVER be a high end grocery chain in Waldorf? Why do we need another Walmart? There are already two which are almost equidistant from where I live.

    The high end grocery store is an ongoing sore subject. Biggest problem is demographics. Take a look at some of my other posts to see some of the explanations. I am not aware of what is going in the Westlake center currently. If I have time I will take a look but I know a karate studio went out of there not long ago. You understand that walmart will build a new bigger store with groceries, etc. and not keep both open in waldorf. They will vacate the other store and then sell it. Its a good spot and wont be empty for very long if the new one is approved. Both stores do very well which is the need to expand and that is not possible in their current space.

      The current Walmart in Waldorf has to be close to one of the original Walmart stores ever built. It's old, dank, nasty and no matter how many times they remodel it, it never gets any better. I have no clue how the manager keeps his or her job. A lot of times the shelves are 1/2 empty and it's a waste of time going there. I just order online rather than go shopping there, it's too depressing. I'll be cheering the day that old run down store is demolished and pushed to the ground. Shopping at a Super Walmart is so much better.

    I have asked the landlord what the status is on three brothers, waiting for a reply.

    I have not seen any posts from freds about the remodel. left him a message about it.

    I've heard a couple of people say that the second Sonic will be located at the corner or Route 6 and 301 across from the Starbucks. Is this true?

    I think that the demographics of Waldorf and the surrounding area are very underestimated. There are quite a few people that I know of that leave Charles County to shop in Annapolis or Virginia. I think it is time for some high end Grocery Stores.

    As with everything there were setbacks that have postponed turning over the space to the tenant. They should be open sometime this summer. No exact date yet.
