October is a month that embodies the shift from the warmth of summer to the crispness of fall. As the days grow shorter, the air turns cooler, and leaves transform into a vibrant palette of reds, oranges, and yellows. It’s a time for cozy sweaters, pumpkin spice everything, and the unmistakable scent of woodsmoke in the air.
October also brings with it a sense of anticipation, with Halloween looming at the end of the month. Neighborhoods start to fill with decorations, and children excitedly plan their costumes. It’s a month that encourages outdoor adventures, from apple picking to scenic hikes, as nature puts on its final show before winter. Overall, October feels like a celebration of change and a reminder to embrace the beauty of transition. That was AI cause I'm too tired to come up with new material today.
“Eat, drink, and be cozy – it’s autumn.”

The One By Sam's Club Closed, The Other By Giant Food Is Still Open
Not anymore
Thank you. I came here to ask the same question.
How bout some new place to get good chikins an biskits?
So Both Bob Evans Are Closed
I have been told by a good source that First Watch is taking over the Bob Evans. So yes we don't have one in the area anymore.
Chris do you know what they have started on at the old Farmers Market. Looks to small to be either Chick or Aldi. Is it the Starbucks? They have paved alot of the roads but kind of hard to figure anything else out. They did leave blank dirt areas for whatever goes in those spots. Also heard a rumor, (we all like rumors) theres a Five Guys coming to that lot. I missed the 84 Lumber move coming to Charlotte Hall in the Public Notices. Thought maybe it was because that lot if Im not wrong is in Charles County, Its funny how the county line runs through that area.
I haven't been able to see progress but if its way over to the right farthest away from the shopping center its the starbucks.
My kidses be in truble daily, we be needin some places for them to hang out. Dave n Bustas or somethin like dat.
Hi Chris! Any idea what's going on with the old Ihop building in Lex. Park? Looks like they've been gutting it for a while now.
Why are they getting into trouble? How will a dave and busters fix that?
I just found out its going to be a scramblers. Breakfast chain
Chris, there have been workers working on the old McKays in Charlotte Hall. Any word on tenants or is the owner just having more work done that wasnt done before it became Shoppers?
The old Shoppers (McKays) in Charlotte Hall is being converted to a Lidl
Really?? Thought it was going to some meat processing warehouse. That seems a bit much since there is a Food Lion and they are currently building an Aldi & a Weiss.
Lidl is probably just a rumor.
Yes,very much a rumor. Lidl does not go into exsitening buildings, they build new.
Yeah that is just a rumor. Last people that were looking at the space was a gym. I don't know if they signed a lease.
Well, they are gutting out the old McKays/Shoppers. Saw plumbing/sewers contractors there Friday.
Chris see what you can do to maybe get us a First Watch or Scramblers in Charlotte Hall. We have enough fast foods.
Hi Chris! Have you heard anything about the old PNC bank in Hollywood? I saw construction vans there this morning.
Yah Chris... you need be gettin us stuff... yah dog
Any word on the prior Helen’s cafe that was in charlotte hall farmers market would relocate to?
Helen's moved down to Hollywood in a little strip of stores, northbound lanes 235, not much in there except a barbershop that I can think of.
The agricultural center was too expensive to refit that space.
correction its the chic fil a apparently Starbucks has to go thru another approval.
It sold to MD Custom Rentals which is owned by MD custom construction. I haven't seen anything else on it.
I've been looking for their requirements to come to an area. This is what they want: The restaurant chain is looking for 3,400-4,400 SF of freestanding or prominent end cap locations with patio space and strong multi-directional visibility from a primary street with a traffic volume of over 25,000 VPD. Target market areas offer a combination of households and daytime population with well-established co-tenants, such as gourmet or first-tier grocers, health clubs, and upscale soft goods retailers.
Hey Chris. Thank you for your blog. You provide great updates. Unfortunately, racist trolls always show up in online forums because it gives them cover to say and do what they are too cowardly to with their names attached.
Chris, have you hear any talk of getting a Trader Joe’s somewhere in the area?
Nanjemoy
Najemoy needs to get indoor plumbing first.
I wouldn't expect Traders to come here any time soon. They need density and other stores close by for distribution. You can always request a store on their website.
When is Sprouts opening in Waldorf?
Rumor mill says a gym and office space is going in at old Shoppers Charlotte Hall. Any truth in that?
