Hope everyone has been keeping busy and had a great Halloween! It was a bit soggy but we still had a pretty good time. Lots of projects still progressing nicely and some I haven't seen move at all. I love November because of family and food time. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and thank you veterans! When do you start decorating for the holidays?
I pinned a great article on our Facebook page about something I talk about a lot which is: Why we cant just put any business in the county. Take a look at that and please like and follow our page there too.
Tropical Smoothie Café will have their grand opening at the Fox Run Shopping Center in Prince Frederick November 5th.

DeleteShoppers Food Needs To Reopen In Waldorf
ReplyDeleteAny updates on the proposed Prince Frederick ALDI’s?
ReplyDeleteToday in Charlotte Hall the area over by the 7-11 was being cleaned up anyword on something coming to that area years ago McKays was trying to build a store there
ReplyDeleteNo news yet on Aldi prince frederick.
ReplyDeleteThe land was not sold that I'm aware of so there shouldn't be much going on with it.
I noticed the lot being cleaned up as well.
ReplyDeleteThe listing is no longer on LoopNet. Last time it was there it had an “ Under Contract” notification
We had it listed and the listing expired so it was removed. The property was not able to close.
ReplyDeleteChris any December updates for Charles County or Brandywine MD?? Thanks
DeleteThanks Chris. That’s a shame it fell through. The Food Lion won’t be able to keep up with the residential growth in the area.
ReplyDeleteWhen is the new 7-11 opening by sams club in Waldorf?
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, Have you heard anything about the Pizza Bolis in Prince Frederick? There is a sign up and everything.
ReplyDeleteHavent seen any opening dates.
ReplyDeleteHave not seen any mention of the prince frederick pizza bolis. What shopping center is it in?
Pizza Boli’s is in the Chapline Place shopping center where Pizza Hut was located.
DeleteWhat’s going on next to the McDonald’s, across Chic Fil A in LaPlata?
ReplyDeleteThe fence by McDonald's is for the boy scout Christmas tree sale.
ReplyDeleteAny progress on the O’Donnell Lake restaurant park promised to us back in 2004? Boston’s seem to be doing enough business still after 14+ years. There were supposed to be three more restaurants. Status?
ReplyDeleteNo other restaurants want to be that far off the road. Now Senator Ellis got funding to purchase the lots for a park and an amphitheater but I have yet to see them bring me a contract. So for now they are still up for grabs.
ReplyDeleteChris, any truth to rumor that Lidl purchased the land near 7-11 in Charlotte Hall (where McKays was going to build on years ago)?
ReplyDeleteThank you Chris. So many locals running their mouths.
ReplyDeleteAny word on St Mary’s Landing Steakhouse in what’s next for the building since it has closed?
ReplyDeleteStill no Jersey Mike's for St Marys County. So sad.
ReplyDeleteHello. Any word on Crumble Cookie? Are they still planning to open?
ReplyDeleteHello! The old Meridian gym location in La Plata now says World Gym. When will that open? Where will the new Planet Fitness be located?
ReplyDeleteWorld Gym sign was never removed from before. Meridian put their sign over it. Planet Fitness is locating there.
DeleteI understand the land beside 7-11 in Charlotte Hall has been sold and is going to be small strip mall. Sign is up and shows pad sites.
ReplyDeleteI don't see any sale in the system. They changed the LLC but its still at the same address.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what they are doing right now. I suppose trying to do it themselves.
Are you talking about Charlotte Hall pad sites near 7-11? I thought McKays still owned property. Maybe they are doing the selling theirselves.
DeleteAs far as I have seen Crumbl is still going to open. They just seem to be slow moving.
ReplyDeleteHavent heard anything on st marys landing.
The parcel in Charlotte Hall was once owned by McKay's when they planned to build a new a store. I use to see Tommy walking the lot on several occasions. I could be wrong but I thought they sold the land and eventually it became property of the Parletts. The new sign put up Saturday has detailed info about all the pad sites (maybe 6 or 7) and their square footage and how the parking lot is designed all the way down to the number of parking spaces. The phone number is a 240 number and that's about all the info on the sign.
ReplyDeleteChris, is there any talk about putting sewer on the southbound side of three notch where the Charlotte Hall Station lot is located? I can’t imagine any developer moving forward with that until there is a sewer hook up.
ReplyDeleteAs of now I don't see sewer being added. Its one of the reasons the area is slow to develop. No one wants to pay for it.
ReplyDeleteChris, do you have any updates on the Waldorf Station project. I see that construction has started on Rt 5 across from Pinefield development so does this mean the contractor will be starting clearing the property on the west side?
ReplyDeleteOk, more questions to answer rumor mills. I hear that the old McKays in Charlotte Hall will become a Shoppers and also heard Aldi will be coming near the Tractor Supply in Charlotte Hall. Any info on these stories? I have the Shoppers story a few times now and that they have started working on the store to hopefully get it up to par because lord knows it needs it.
ReplyDeleteIve lived in Charlotte Hall for 45 years and have watched it grow. I know of no sewer coming anytime in the near or far future. As Chris has mentioned that has slowed development. The businesses already in Charlotte Hall are primarily hooked up to a couple of lagoon's that process the sewage. Food Lion has their own thing which is quite huge beside their store. The new Charlotte Hall Station has nothing showing on the design that is on the sign of any type of sewer plan. I sure hope they aren't planning on acquiring the land on the opposite side of Charlotte Hall Rd. for some type of sewer processing, that land does have a for sale sign on it. That puts it right beside the Three Notch Trail and my neighborhood. Probably will not go over very well with the NIMBY's.
ReplyDeleteShoppers is history isn't it. As for Aldi near Tractor Supply theres nothing but one little parcel next to Advance Auto, which I don't think is large enough for them.
There is a 2.81 acre pad available by Tractor Supply. Big enough for an Aldi or some other grocery store.
DeleteThat site you mention next to Tractor Supply in Charlotte Hall, is it actually next to Advance Auto on the end. The other site toward Indian Creek is the sewage system for Tractor Supply. If its 2.8 acres it should be able to hold a Aldi and parking. They are fixing up McKay's Plaza, working on the parking lot and painting the faded siding on the front of the old McKays store. Come on Chris leak some info or rumors. LOL
