Aquatic Center Coming to Brandywine
This is a project that has been in the works for a while (2013) and since there was a groundbreaking late last year I'm going to go ahead and post about it.
The Prince Georges County Parks and Recreation is going to build a 77,000 square foot indoor aquatic and recreation center on a 65 acre parcel of land near the intersection of Brandywine Road and Missouri Avenue. The project is scheduled to open mid 2019. You can read more about it here:

UPDATE 10/6/17: Ground is being cleared for the site.
UPDATE 1/14/19: Opening moved to spring / summer 2019
This will definitely be something that is needed here in Southern Maryland. I hope we have more facilities like this coming to our area. We have plenty places to eat and buy things, we need MORE things for people TO DO:-)
ReplyDeleteI'll be glad when I can take the kids here.
ReplyDeleteI heard the Cheesecake Factory is coming to Brandywine Crossing? Is that true?
ReplyDeleteNot true.
ReplyDeleteSo whats going on at the intersection of Branch Ave & Accokeek Rd & Brandywine Rd
ReplyDeleteParks and Rec fee structure is Resident and Non-Resident, due to its location many of the patrons will be Non-Resident, those coming from Charles County, who will pay a higher rate to use the facility.
ReplyDeleteWhat about senior citizens. Will there be programs at this location for the elderly?
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteAny word on the opening? Looking forward to taking some water aerobic classes.
