SONIC Now Open!
The Lexington Park Sonic has now officially opened 7/2/2014 with a ribbon cutting this morning. We have a few more planned for southern Maryland if the right spots can be found. Enjoy!
I hate to be critical, and I certainly wish them the best with the Lex Park location, but it is the worst physical layout at a Sonic that I have ever seen. Is land suddenly prohibitively expensive, 'cause it seems like there are vacant pads everywhere. There are an abysmal number of drive up spots, inadequate indoor seating if they are trying to transition to that kind of establishment. When I went, drive up spots full, absolute gridlock around the drive-thru and a few folks baking in the sun on the patio. As much as I love Sonic, I left. Which given the crazy traffic patterns in that shopping center, was not easy.
I have sent your comments to the sonic management. Land is expensive and they have to work with what they have to make it fit. Hopefully the next one will layout better.
Still working on the Waldorf location. We may see it built next year.
Very shocking that Lex Park got a Sonic before us here in Waldorf.
ReplyDeleteI know right! Lets get one in Charles County!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the space where the former Wigwam would be a great location for Sonice in Waldrof.

ReplyDeleteAny indication of when a Sonic may go in Waldorf?
