Ashley Furniture coming to Waldorf

Ashley Furniture will open a new location in the St. Charles Town Plaza this year.  The store will take over a portion of space between Citi Trends and K&G Menswear.  Renovations will be done to open up the area and create a new facade for the store.  Some of the smaller stores in that area may be relocated.


UPDATE 10-27-2014 Due to renovations of the center Ashley will open April 2015
UPDATE 4-29-2015 Weather has pushed back the opening to Fall 2015
UPDATE 6-26-2015 Store opening today at 5:00

    That's a pretty good choice for a new business but I'm kind of surprised Value City allowed for that to happen. Wouldn't the smart thing be for them to have it written in their lease that they can't put another furniture store into the same center? Also if I were Ashley I wouldn't want to necessarily be in the same center as Value City. That space has been vacant for a while and I think relocating some of the smaller stores is a good choice for that center.

    I heard a Harris Teeter is being built by Billingsley and St. Charles Parkway is that happening?

    what is proposed for the land on the southbound side of 301 right after the Shoppers Food Warehouse and before Billingsly Road. The sign says the land is under contract

    That land is a mix of residential and commercial. I don't know what the buyers plan is for it. If its under contract they are doing their due diligence and site studies to see if its feasible for them. We wont know anything about the final proposed use for a while.

    Yes it is. Simon malls has to do some work to the building first. They have to go thru design and permits.

    Should be soon. Maybe by July 1st. They are moving things in there now. I have not seen anything official come out about it yet.
