Brandywine Crossing Phase 2

Brandywine Crossing phase 2 in in full construction mode and we will have lots of space to fill.  The two major tenants for this phase are CarMax and Great Escape Theater.  also on site will be Navy Federal Credit Union, McDonald's and Cheddar's.  Philly Flash is in negotiations as well as a few more I can't reveal until the lease is signed.  Sorry no Cheesecake Factory, they are just not able to work for our area.  More to come!

UPDATE:2/15/2013  Trailer on site for applications for Xscape Theater and here is their facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/XscapeTheaters?ref=ts&fref=ts

  1. Is there any plans to extend the road that runs behind Safeway, Target and Cosco and connect it with Cedarville Road by the Panda power plant. It would greatly benefit access to the shopping center from Pinefield and s.e. P.G. You wouldn't have to go out onto 301 and would cut down travel time.

  2. As of now there are no plans for the roads to meet. Mattawoman drive runs behind the shopping center and would most likely connect with the other part of mattawoman dr. at brandywine road.

  3. Hey Chris this is John from Brandywine, I asked you a couple of months back when the theater was scheduled to open and you told me you did not have a date yet. Have you heard anything yet. I work in CONST in Va and I can tell you these guy building that plaza are the slowest jokers I have ever seen, talk about milking the cow good grief. In Alexandria they started 2 new buildings, a restaurant Depot and, an office building adjacent to the patent & trade building not 2 months prior to them starting Brandywine Station Phase 2 and they've open the Restaurant Depot, and not far from finishing the office building. Maybe there is a reason they are going so slow. But I hope that thing opens in our lifetime, pun intended.

  4. I think the biggest issue was the permit process. Construction is underway now and the theater will open in December.

  5. Chris, I commute from Waldorf to Pax River Naval Base for work and I was wondering in the future are there any plans for adding over passes and eliminating few of the red lights on the road? The road is not safe to drive and especially when it rains. I see a car accident almost every other day. 301 north route to DC traffic is real bad around Brandywine as well? Are there any plans to fix 301? It will be greatly appreciated.

  6. As of now there are no plans to add anything to Crain Highway. Any plans from the past including the bypass of 301 are not in consideration at this time.

  7. Hey Chris. Thank you for your blog. It is very informative and it's great to hear about all the up-and-coming places in (and around) Charles County. By any chance, have you all considered recruiting PF Chang's to build a location out here?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Thanks for checking out the blog. The 2 restaurants I am asked for the most are PF Changs and Cheescake Factory. Unfortunately unless we gain another 100,000 people within a 3 mile radius of the shopping center, they won't even consider us. They tell us they have to be in densely populated urban areas with large lunch crowds. Until we get more of our workforce to work closer to home we are out of luck.

  9. My family and I visited the movie theather over the weekend and really enjoyed it. I feel Waldorf is lacking the one restaurant where the price point is above what an average teenager can afford. I believe having Bonefish has created that but do you see more restaurants coming in the future or shops?

    ReplyDelete
  10. There is more coming to Brandywine but waldorf definately lacks what we call "white tablecloth" dining. I have sites available for them but they have not been looking in our area. Have you ever tried Silver Skewers on 925? It's a great restaurant in an overlooked location, they do persian cuisine and it is excellent.

  11. No I haven't. That is something my wife and I will consider. Much thanks.

  12. Not related to Brandywine crossing but any idea about the construction right next to chick fil a in Waldorf!

  13. Its just utility work. Nothing exciting. Sorry.

  14. Any idea when the checkers in brandywine will open ?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I don't know yet but it looks like its very close, perhaps another 30 days, if they started hiring yet. I need to get up there more and check things out.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Checkers in now open in brandywine md

    ReplyDelete
  17. Chris, I have to second your recommendation on Silver Skewers. If anyone has never been there you must try it out. One of the best restaurants in southern Maryland.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Thanks for the update on Checkers, I was just by there a few days ago looking for signs of life.

Thanks for the recommendation of Silver Skewers. They are definitely worth the trip and such great people.

  19. How about putting some shopping here in charlotte hall!! Like a wegmans and target!!! We need something down here too

  20. Hi Chris, when will My Organic Market open in Waldorf? Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  21. Couple of months, they are just starting the work inside now. The Beauty supply store should be right behind them.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Mckays will start on a new shopping center in the near future. I have been working on tenants for the area, its been a slow process for the Charlotte Hall area. Need more population for many users.

  23. I have not heard of any plan for a tower, sorry.

  24. Has anyone suggested a Sonic as a possible restuarant? It seems the closest is in the Annapolis area?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hey Chris,

Are there any plans for a Luxury Car dealership for Charles Country?
(Mercedes, BMW, Lexus) Or is that like PF Chang and Cheesecake Factory?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Any plans for a Sonic Drive-In?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Chris

Did a new restaurant owned by Hubbard open in Brandywine Crossing? I heard people were there Sunday but it sounded like a soft grand opening.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I have not heard yet. I put in a call to the landord to check. If they did it's about time.

    ReplyDelete
  29. any word when the theater may be completed

    ReplyDelete
  30. I can't believe PF Chang has that requirement. If they were to visit any restuarant in Waldorf area, on any given day, they are crowded; and surely on the weekend. They wouldn't hurt for business, that's for sure. Their loss! Any thoughts on bring SteinMart to the area?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Nothing that I know of from steinmart. I also think that a few of these restaurants that dont open till later in the day could get an extra boost being open for lunch. corporations and their silly rules..

  32. Yes I announced it on my blog not to long ago. Go to the right of the blog and click on 2012 and then november. That will display the latest posts. you may also want to clear your cookies.

  33. Hi Crhis,

First, Happy New Year to you and your family.

Second, can you set up a zoom-able version of the Brandywine Croossing Phase 2 image section? The current image can not be magnified to effectuate easier reading of furture commercial vendors who will be occuppying the Phase 2 spaces.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Warren Thanks and Happy New Year to you and your family as well. The site plan does not show any of the tenants just the space available mostly. I will be doing a new post soon and I will try to do a layout showing where tenants will be. I have posted a list of tenants coming in my November or December posts. Make sure you arent bookmarked on an old page and are not seeing updated I do.

  35. Great blog, Chris. Keep pushing for finer dining in SoMD. I'm excited that Casey Jones is starting a cheese and charcuterie board on Mondays with good wine selections. I wonder if Clyde's Restaurant Group would make a good fit here?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hey Chris, any idea where a person would go to inquire about working at the theater? Great info on your blog

    ReplyDelete
  37. I will check monday to see if there is an update on when hiring will start.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hi Chris, where do you go to fill out an application? Where can I find a list of positions?

    ReplyDelete
  39. They have a trailer on site for applications. They dont have a website yet. Here is their facebook page:

  40. Hey Chris! Any word on when Cheddar's will be opening? Is there any plans for a Sonic or Arby's?

    ReplyDelete
  41. April 15 for Cheddars. Still working on 3 sonics for the area. Arbys will be reopening the Clinton location under a new owner.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Thanks for the update! now someone needs to open a tropical smoothie. I haven't seen one in MD. The closest one is Alexandria, VA. That is one place I really miss since moving here from VA Bch.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'd love to see Sonic come to town. It's too bad PF Chang's and Cheesecake Factory don't want to come here. Other places I'd love to see closer to Waldorf - Trader Joe's, Jimmy John's, and Potbelly. We have places for them and as others have said, the restaurants that are here are always busy! Love your blog.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Sonic is looking for locations now. Jimmmy Johns is also coming to waldorf but they are behind schedule for construction.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hey, I work at Gwynn Park Middle and my students have been telling me that there is going to be a Dave and Busters at Brandywine Crossing. They seem pretty excited! Is it true? Or do I have to break their little hearts??

    ReplyDelete
  46. What about a Jamba Juice?

    ReplyDelete
  47. With brandywine crossings being in walkable distance from communities across 301, what are your thoughts regarding a pedestrian overpass? Similar to the bridge over 197 @ Bowie town center. It can cut down on unnecessary traffic and provide safe access to a young customers ( and workforce) that live in the area and cannot drive.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Forget about Jimmy John's already a the best sub shop around and that is New York Deli.

    ReplyDelete
  49. The restaurants in Brandywine stay busy, always a wait to be seated. The Cheesecake Factory should really do their research. If they did, they would see that Brandywind can more than support the restaurant. The same thing happened in Largo MD with Wegmans. However they did place a store there. The Wegmans Largo location stays packed!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Any idea Why didn't Cheescake factory payout?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Can we PLEASE have a Sonic down there. That is a lot of land and opportunity for all that.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Enough already with the fast food sandwich shops. We don't need another sub sandwich or asian noodle/teriyaki shop in SoMd or Brandywine Crossing. What would be great is fine dining. Please talk with someone about getting some fine dining restaurants like Ruth Chris, Macaroni Grill, Cheesecake factory, Morton's Steak House, The Spaghetti Factory or the like. The roadways to Brandywine crossing must be addressed now to ease congestion, why an overpass wasn't built in the initial plans is beyond me.

    ReplyDelete
  53. do you have, or can provide a list of the new stores opening in the new phase of bradywine crossing, i want to apply for a job and want to know which stores to apply at?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Chris, why didn't Prince George's county officials require the developer to install a flyover, prior of final approval of the Center? I'm sure that the developer is not going to install one out of the goodness of his heart. We really do not need two more lights on Md Rt 5.

    ReplyDelete
  55. That may be more of a state highway question. I suppose the county did not want to pay for it of they felt it was not necessary.

    ReplyDelete
  56. MD Route 5 is the worst since the shopping center opened, It was already bad but now it takes an extra 15 - 30 minutes to get passed those lights in rush hour, huge headache and very gas consuming for waldorf residents. Another example of Prince Georges County developing without considering the long-term impacts. As waldorf continues to see growth this proplem is only going to worsen, for both residents dealing wil ridicoulous commute time and the shopping center losing customers that refuse to sit on congested highways

    ReplyDelete
  57. What about a friday's, graces, macaroni grill, or match box? Will there be any construction behind the Safeway? Will it look like bowie,md

    ReplyDelete
  58. There isn't anything planned for the land behind the shopping center. The land is owned by sever different companies. It is zoned for mixed use so lots of things are possible.
