Dash In La Plata
Dash In Food Stores will be taking over the old Exxon Station at the corner of Route 301 and Rt 6 in La Plata. Renovations will begin shortly and should be complete by April if not sooner.
Not unless you want to run a franchise. It's only a total investment of $1.6 million to get started plus a $30,000 franchise fee. You have to have a net worth of 1 million and $250,000 cash in the bank. Or you can drive to Solomons for some chicken, lol.
Have you ever listened to comedian Jim Gaffigans description of a Waffle House? They are corporate owned so I may shoot a letter to them just to see if they have interest.
Any word on what's going on with the Arby's locations? It's a really unfortunate situation and I really feel for all of the employees that had to go through it. Do you think someone will reopen them as an Arby's or will it be something else?
Do you know if Hardees is looking to expand in southern maryland? If so they would be a good fit for those Arby locations. Tried Hardees for the first time when visiting NC and I went back twice in one day. The food was actually very good and a large variety of choices. It is different from the other fast food places in the DC area; at least to me.
We actually had Hardees in La Plata where BB&T is now and in Waldorf where Bostons market is now. I dont remember the exact reasons for them leaving but we have not had a franchiser come back looking in the area. We do send out information packets to the real estate departments incase someone is looking down here.
Do you know if they will open up a Rainforest Cafe, Fuddruckers or a Jason's Deli in the Waldorf area? These restaurants are realy nice place to eat. It would be nice to have these places here in the area.
Fudds and Rainforest have population needs. I definitely don't ever see rainforest coming here if they went out of tysons. They feed on tourist locations mostly. fuddruckers is a franchise you need 1 million to get started. Jason's is also a franchise. I need people to run these places and i will find them a spot.
What happened to the Long John Silver's/A&W that was supposed to go in at Pinefield where Dunkin' Donuts did? Do they have any plans of trying to open here in a different location?
I have not heard of them looking anywhere else. I don't know the details of why the switch to Dunkin. Usually it's got something to do with the franchiser.
It's just my opinion, but I don't think it's a good location for a fast food restaurant. If you're going north on 301, you pass dozens of places to eat before you get there. I often have said that I forget about Arbys. Other's may say the same.
Great minds think alike. I was reading this column from the top down and thinking, "we need a Sonic" and see someone has posted that exact comment. Not sure if these are company owned or franchised but now that we have one in Edgewater (a long drive for a hamburger), perhaps they would consider Charles Co.
They have considered the area and we found them a site but they could not reach an agreement with the owners. I'm sure they will try again in the future.
I heard a rumor that Roy Rogers is coming back to La Plata and will be replacing Arbys. Is this true?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely false. We have partial control of all the area Arbys that went under and there is no truth to that.
ReplyDeleteAre there any plans to bring back Roy Rogers? I need some gold rush chicken sandwhich in my life.

ReplyDeletesounds like an exspensive chicken sandwhich. I'll just drive to solomons. haha
ReplyDeleteI think someone needs to invest in a Waffle House now that we have a Cracker Barrel.

ReplyDeleteWe have 10 locations up for sale or ground lease. They will all become something else unless another franchiser shows up.

ReplyDeleteIts too bad that we don't have a Sheetz somewhere in the area. Have you heard of any interest?
