June Updates

Post #300!  Summer is here and new businesses continue to grow in Southern Maryland!  Do you like this monthly announcement set up?  I added a search bar on the right to help with locating certain interests.  Let me know!

Marshall's is joining the store line up at The Landing at Woodyard in Clinton.

Cold Stone and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is now open at St. Marys Marketplace in California, MD

KFC has demolished the old store in Waldorf and is building a new one in the same location.

Firehouse Subs now open at The Landing at Woodyard in Clinton.

The new 65,000 square foot 3 level Top Golf opens in Oxon Hill this Friday at 9 a.m. at 6400 Clipper Way.  This will be their third location in the DMV area.
Hancock Family Farms will be opening a store in the Town of La Plata near the Green Turtle.  Look for an opening date in July.

Lidl Waldorf has walls going up on site.  Still no word on an opening date.  I'm guessing late Fall.
The store will be located on the corner of St. Patrick's Drive and Smallwood Drive.  Updates as we get them.

  2. Can you talk with TGIF corporation to come to St. Mary's that would be great. Also we need some nice salad places like Chop't or Sweet Greens. Any luck with reaching out.

  3. I have not heard anything about Burlington.

I reached out to the people that owned Rubys and they have nothing to announce at the moment.

Chopt and Sweet green will not come to our area. I spoke with a few brokers that have dealt with them. They prefer more densely populated areas.

  4. Chris,
Do you know if Publix or Mellow Mushroom has any interest in coming to Charles County (or any part of Southern Maryland)? Know they are getting closer, however curious what your experience is.

    Thanks!

  7. Greetings Chris, Do you know what happened to Sweet Thing Black Orchid cupcake place in Waldorf? They disappeared without a trace. Thx!

  8. Microcenter is not a huge company with only 25 stores across the united states. I don't foresee them coming to a small market like ours.

Sweet thing has just vanished from the earth! I cant find anything on where they went.

  10. I wish they would put a Costco or a home Depot to compete with Lowes and BJS in St Marys County and a book store like Barnes and noble.

  17. I heard from an employee that Panera in St. Mary's County is going to be relocating. Do you have any info on timing or location?

  18. I have not heard anything about Panera yet. I know the company is looking to go freestanding and with drive thru now instead of inline stores.

  19. is there a 3rd business going in at the Harbor Freight/Aldi site?

Whats going in next to hearth and patio on 925 in Waldorf?

  20. Will there be any shopping centers or any type of commercial shopping coming to far west end of Waldorf 228 near North point. A lot of homes being built it would be nice to have a 7eleven, grocery store or fast food on this end other than what's in akokeek.

  21. There is room for a third tenant between harbor and aldi but they have not found one yet.

None of the land is zoned for retail use on most of 228. In fact most of 228 on that end was changed to a conservation district by the previous commissioners.

  22. Chris, what is the status of the former Chaney Development at the old Rip's Restaurant location? Also I see that they are starting phase 3 of the Parkway behind the Sam's club so will this phase take it to 301?

    ReplyDelete
  23. They are still looking for tenants. No real push to build until the road expansion is done. Yes it will come out to route 301 to help take some traffic off the road.
