    1. From a previous post on this site dated October, 2016

"Waldorf Station Land Has Been Sold

The 145 acres known as Waldorf Station, and was once where a Super Walmart was planned, has been sold by Chaney Enterprises to Greenburg Gibbons. This new group is responsible for some very nice developments like Annapolis Towne Centre and Waugh Chapel Towne Centre. We have worked with them in the past and I believe they are the right group to do a nice project on that property. Their plan is to do an open-air mixed use development. We look forward to seeing their design.

Demolition permits have been issued to remove some of the buildings on the property. They may include the Chaney building, Waldorf Restaurant and former Embassy Dairy."

  7. Hi Chris - What is going on with the 7/11 and other connected retail shops that were suppose to be built at the corner of Piney Church Road and Billingsley Road in Waldorf? I thought the new shops were suppose to be up and running by now. Please confirm. Also, what's taking so long for the grocery store/retail shops to come at the corner of St. Charles Parkway and Billingsley Road? This area is growing fast with new single family homes, townhomes and apartments so why does it seem like it is so hard for this populated area to receive it's own local stores? Lastly, there is this new Industrial Company located off Billingsley Road. It is between Leonardtown Road and Piney Church Road but closer to Piney Church. What is this company and what do they do? There is constantly loud noises coming from this company, in a community that is usually very quite, and clouds of smoke polluting the air. Please confirm. Thank you.

  8. The 7-11 site is still waiting to get some other tenants signed before they build. I have not received an update from that owner.

The land on Billingsley needs to be bought by a shopping center developer. No one is working on anything for that site currently. Some markets think that just the surrounding residences aren't enough to support them and not having highway visibility will be an issue.

The most recent addition to the industrial park is a power plant. Its gas fired so it is one of the more cleaner types of plants. The plant has been in the works to be built for probably 20 years. Here is their website with more information: www.cpvstcharles.com

  9. Chris, any news on the power plant? I looked at the site you linked to, but, there's not an update that I can find. Thanks. :)

  11. New plant is causing a lot of noise in the surrounding neighborhoods.

  12. Yes. The new powerplant is in violation of noise ordinances, especially at night. It is a noise nuisance for homes within 2 miles of it.
