Dunkin Donuts will be taking the end unit behind Rite Aid in the La Plata Village Shopping Center on Drury Drive. This will be the forth location on Route 301 in Charles County. They should open sometime this summer.

Dunkin Donuts Coming to La Plata
Dunkin Donuts will be taking the end unit behind Rite Aid in the La Plata Village Shopping Center on Drury Drive. This will be the forth location on Route 301 in Charles County. They should open sometime this summer.

I am sooooo excited about Dublin Donut coming to laplata. I love their coffee and now I won't have to go all the way to Waldorf.

ReplyDeleteYes we are working on sites for them in La Plata, Waldorf, and Brandywine.
ReplyDeleteAny word on who might end up with the divested Food Lion and Giant stores? Seems like a good opportunity for someone like Kroger to enter the market. The La Plata Giant seems like a possibility for a Harris Teeter conversion if they were so inclined. Also any interest in filling the big box space like the old Staples and Sports Authority that is closing?
ReplyDeleteWe dont have any idea yet what will happen with the giant and food lions. They may just be bought and operate as usual. Harris teeter wont come. We have tried. I have not heard the brokers that manage those other stores say they have anything lined up yet. The big retail convention in las vegas just happened so maybe they will get some good leads. Time will tell.

ReplyDeleteI really don't get it! Charles County, depending on the year, is between the eleventh and twentieth wealthiest county by household income in the ENTIRE United States. Yet, Harris Teeter (Kroger) wont enter this market? Quite frankly, I have to wonder if there is a racial component to the decisions made by these corporations. We cannot even get Aldi to put a store here, yet ANY other area with these income levels and seemingly endless tracts of brand new housing would already have their sister store Trader Joe's.
ReplyDeleteGreat observation Anonymous (6/4 @2:19 pm). When things don't add up or make any sense, racism (or some other -ism) is usually the underlying reason. Hopefully these corporations will soon see GREEN more than they see BROWN!
