Mid Atlantic Seafood Coming to Waldorf

I just sold the former Hong Kong Buffet next to Moms Organic.  The buyer is planning a Mid Atlantic Seafood restaurant.  The place has already been totally gutted and new construction has started.  This owner has several restaurants in the Maryland area.  If you have been around the area for a while you will remember this building as the old Western Steer restaurant.  Look for an opening in the summer.

  1. Hi Chris this is good news since Waldorf is lacking soul food restaurants, speaking of such should we assume Carolina Kitchen is no go? Also, do you know when the opening date of Dat Fork Caribbean restaurant that's opening in the location where brassas grill was? I'm eager for some Curry chicken!

  2. The Caribbean place is scheduled to open March 12th. As far as the Carolina kitchen I'm feeling like it's not happening.

  3. Hi Chris, will the census do demographics for 2015 to show the growth in Charles County so we can hopefully get larger chain restaurants like Cheese Cake Factory to possibly build here? I know you stated several years ago it just wasn't enough people in Charles County for them to come down here. Have any other restaurant chain shown any interest in the Charles County area?

  4. Mid Atlantic Seafood is just a typical carryout found in most urban areas. They offer lots of options but I wouldn't call it a soul food restaurant. Seems as though we're getting a lot of the same around here; I'd love to see some more independent, authentic specialty restaurants.

  5. No still remodeling. Sara I moderate comments so it may take time to get to them to approve. I've had people put some advertising and other weird stuff on here so i have to do it that way. :)
