UPDATE: Looks like they will be rebuilding the entire building so they can get the added height for the store.
UPDATE 4/17/15 They will have a swimming pool and basketball court in the building.

UPDATE 12/3/2015 I have done a new post about this but i see most traffic gets directed back to this old post. The basketball court was taken out of the space due to space restrictions. The interior work is underway.
I heard that a 64 lane bowling alley is coming to Brandywine. Can you confirm that? We need something better than amf waldorf.

ReplyDeleteThis will be great no more trips to bowie, upper Marlboro, Alexandria etc for the gym. I agree a bowling alley be great. Any word on when Carolina kitchen in brandywine? Also anything being done with that space where the car dealer use to be 301 south. Be a nice fit for bowling alley pool hall Dave n buster type place.
ReplyDeleteStill waiting on Carolina Kitchen to get started but they have been quiet. Nothing else going on in the area currently. Still waiting to see if Wal-Mart will move towards the north end of town.

ReplyDeleteAshley furniture seems to be taking longer due to the bad winter. I would say late this year it should open.
ReplyDeleteHave not heard Harbor freight. We showed them a few places before but didn't settle on any of them.
Carolina Kitchen has not been in contact with the landlord. We do not know the status currently but they signed a lease.
The building next to Wawa near the county line is rumored to be AAA auto service and travel.
ReplyDeleteSonic is going thru the permit process. These things take a long time. Hope to be up and running at the end of the year.
PG county is getting a whole foods and they already have a wegmans. Since our demographic is "similar", is there any chance of getting one in Charles county? With the success of moms, I'm sure their research will show that similar stores will do well.

ReplyDeleteStill dont have the numbers they want to get them down here. Too many of us leave to work. They need daytime population for lunch crowd.
ReplyDeleteLA Fitness land is still being made ready for them to take over and build. Foundation was being dug up yesterday. Long process to start from scratch again. That's what they requested. Maybe six months from now, could be sooner.
If they have water aerobics classes there I will be changing gyms.

ReplyDeleteI am so excited about the LA Fitness! I'll be waiting outside the door on opening day :) Just hope the pool isn't tiny... a little nervous that the space is going to be too small to have a decent sized pool/basketball court areas. Fingers crossed that it's at somewhere between 5-10 lap lanes at least.
