New Brandywine Updates 1/23/2013

Happy New Year to everyone!  I received some emails asking for updates on Brandywine Crossing Phase 2.  As of right now we are almost completely leased which is great news.  We have one or two more pad sites left.  Advance Auto has taken the pad by Safeway gas.  Still on schedule to have the buildings up by summer.  Cheddar's is the building out front that is almost completed.  The Theater will open in the Spring and someone will be on site for employment by the end of January from what we were told.  Hopefully we will continue in the new year with the same success.  I appreciate all the positive comments and will continue to bring you the latest updates as soon as I hear about them.

UPDATE: Theater will be called Xscape and it's owned by Aliance Entertainment not Regal.
They are accepting applications on site now

Hanabi Japanese Steak House is also included in the new phase.

  1. Chris, what does the "WTI" trademark, presented in your list of Phase 2 tenant trademarks, stand for?

  2. Chris -

I've heard rumors that the corner of Middletown Rd and McDaniel Rd in Waldorf is going to be developed with gas stations/quickie marts. Any truth to this? I sure hope nothing happens.

  3. I have not heard that. There is a pad site at McDaniel and Berry road but I have not heard of any development.

  5. I believe there is a non compete clause with Safeway for pharmacys. We may try to do one across the street.

  6. Did the Einstein's bagel fall through for Brandywine crossing?

  7. Do you think Chic Fil A would consider the Arby's in Clinton? That would be a great spot with high traffic volume.

  8. Have a contract and a back up on it now. Cant say for what yet.

  9. Do you think we could get a Krispy Kreme somewhere in Charles County (although I am sure everybody is watching their weight)? I hear they plan on expanding and the closest one is in Alexandria.

  11. Any News on Navy Federal or other credit union coming to brandyine crossing?

  12. No credit unions yet, still searching.
Cheddar's may start hiring soon. Go to their website: https://cheddarscareers.clickandhire.net/

I talked to Krispy Kreme and they have no plan to expand in the Maryland / D.C. area but i could try again in a year.

  15. Will the EVER widen Branch Ave? That 2 lanes is not enough for the amount of traffic in either direction. With that huge median I dont see why they haven't been done this.

  16. I don't know if there is any plan in the near future. It may not be in the county budget.

  20. I'm happy to give you a plug for your project if it helps you out. This has been in the works for a long time. Hope you find a spot and get your funding.

  21. I had forgotten about that sportsplex project. To be honest nobody I talk to has even heard about it. Maybe you (the project orgaizers) need to make a lot more noise.

  23. I remember that they wanted to do it in charles county and had advertised that it was going to be partially funded by the county and the commissioners knew nothing about it. Not a good way to start off. I believe it was in the paper.

  24. Any word on a whole foods?

  25. Nothing from them, they still have no interest for now.

  26. Hi Chris. First let me say thank you for keeping the residents of Southern Maryland informed. It's much appreciated. I once heard there were talks of The Cheesecake Factory, Ruth Chris and other restaurants opening in Waldorf. I believe up near the Pinefiled shopping center somewhere. Is that still in the works? Thank you

  28. Hi Chris,

Are they building a car wash in White Plains?

  29. No car wash as of now, there had been one planned in the past.

No cheesecake factory that was just a rumor.

  30. Hi Chris, Just was curious if Carolina Kitchen backed out on their plan to open in Brandywine? Their website no longer has Brandywine as a "coming soon" location.

  31. A lease was signed, I have heard of no changes.
