September 2021 Updates

Happy Fall! I hope everyone had a great summer and is healthy and happy.  Everyone is getting back to school and learning new routines.  I hope this is a good school year since the last two were a mess.  It continues to be a good year for us.  Lots of things working in the area.  Hopefully they all make it to the finish line. Let's all continue to make our area a great place to live.  #choosekindness 

J&A Latino Market has opened at the Merchants Square Shopping Center at 4459 Crain Highway in White Plains.

Two new tenants have been signed for Waldorf Park near the corner of 301 and Smallwood Drive.  Naz's Halal and Aspen Dental.  Naz's has Multiple locations in different states.  These tenants join Chic fil A, Jersey Mikes and Starbucks.

It has been reported that IHOP is taking over the former Ruby Tuesday's in California, MD.  Renovations have already begun.  

August 2021 Updates

Staying cool? Lots of hot weather this summer.  People are out and about on the streets cause traffic has been crazy.  Stay safe out there!

Lots of rumors going around for the Charlotte Hall area.  It seems that most of them are just that.  As of right now nothing is going on the old motel site and nothing is happening to the farmers market site.  

On to other things..

Active Physical Therapy is now open at La Plata Village Center.  52 Drury Drive.  

Ross has officially been added to the tenant list for Fox Run Shopping Center in Prince Frederick.  They will be located next to Ulta.

Oasis Fresh Food Market and Papaleo's Ice cream

I just heard that the Clarity coffee house owners in Indian Head are going to be starting their own grocery store and Ice cream shop in the town.  Oasis Fresh Food Market and Papaleo's Ice cream will be located in the old Algonquin building at 4145 Indian Head Highway.  Look for it in 2022. Very exciting to see more come to that area.

T Mobile has been added to the tenant list for Fox Run shopping centers new retail strip in Prince Frederick in front of Ulta and Ross.

July 2021 Updates

Happy July! Right now its not happy for me as we have been part of a major ransomware cyber attack on the united states.  Our website is down and our computer techs are trying to get us back up and running.  Luckily we have our stuff backed up and properties available on multiple web sites other than our own.

This is a good reminder for everyone to back up your stuff on a separate portable hard drive once a month and keep it safe and disconnected from your computer when you aren't using it.  This has been occupying my time right now and we are working on a brand new webpage we are trying to get online immediately. 

We are back up and running thanks to Just Tech in La Plata and we have a brand new website!

Bayou Girl Drink Factory will be taking the former Sweet Frog space at Rosewick Crossing Shopping Center in La Plata.

BurnBox Pizza has signed up to take over the former Dunkin and vitahaus spaces next to Verizon at 2195 Crain Highway in Waldorf.  Made to order pizzas prepared right in front of you and then put in their special quick cook oven.  We were excited to broker this deal.

June 2021 Updates

Happy June! Congratulations to all the 2021 graduates!  The past year has been very difficult to deal with and these kids are making history.  I wish the best for them and everyone going forward. 

I'm going to mention a few things I have announced in the past but have been buried by months of other posts but we have some new things happening in the area as well.

Also I want people to understand some things about new commercial developments.  The county does not build retail centers. The county cant make a business open up here.  These are private companies that put out all the money to make it happen.  When you say things like "They should have fixed that old building over there instead" or "There's vacant space already over there".  Well that's not their property.  Maybe they didn't want to sell it. Maybe they wanted too much for it.  Maybe that building was so out of date it cost more to fix than to build new.  Maybe the land or building was too small.  There are many factors to consider.  What if you wanted to build a new home but everyone told you to go renovate some other one instead?

Waldorf Park is the new, 30,000 square foot shopping center that's going up near the corner of Route 301 North and Smallwood Drive.  It will connect by access road to the Cracker Barrel restaurant, Carrabba's and Hampton Inn.  Construction has started.   Tenants currently signed are Chick-fil-A, Jersey Mikes Subs, Nail Trix Salon and Spa, and a Starbucks with drive thru that I know many people have been waiting for.  This will be a second location for Chick-fil-A and not a relocation.  That should help with the long lines at the current location that can sometimes expand out onto the highway.  Chick-fil-A has a proposed opening of October 2021

New tenant for the Rosewick Crossing Shopping Center in La Plata.  Salsita's Grill will take over the former Spoons BBQ restaurant.  Should open by late summer.

Construction has started on a new three story MedStar Shah medical building in White Plains next to CVS.

Fresenius Kidney Care is now open in Waldorf West behind Silver Diner at 3015 Technology Place.

Charleys Philly Steaks will be coming to the Waldorf Shoppers World behind Chipotle.  

There is a Dollar General being built in Marbury at 224 and Bicknell road. I'm not sure why they chose that spot.  That area is zoned for commercial by right.

Burger King has been added to the list of new tenants for Fox Run Shopping Center in Prince Frederick.  

7 Eleven is now open in White Plains at the corner of Willetts Crossing road and Route 301 North.

May 2021 Updates

 Too busy to think of something to say!  Happy May!

Rock & Toss Crab House is now open at the Shops at Waldorf Center formerly know as Festival shopping center.  They are located in the former Genghis Grill space near Panera Bread.

Wee Bean Coffee has opened its new location at 6580 Crain Highway in La Plata.

Down at Lexington Exchange in California, MD thy are working on some warehouse flex space behind the movie theater.  I'm also told the Aldi is expanding.

Ulta Beauty has officially been added to the list of tenants coming soon to the Fox Run Shopping Center in Prince Frederick.  It will be located next to Five Below.
